Roland has released the TrueVis VG series of wide-format eco-solvent printer/cutters for producing vehicle graphics, banners, posters, displays, decals, packaging prototypes, apparel heat transfers, and more. The series, which includes 54- and 64-in. models, leverages four FlexFire printheads, which the company says are designed to flexibly control the metallic plate attached to the ink chamber for a higher firing frequency. Print speeds can reach 107.7 sq ft/hr in high quality mode on vinyl, Roland reports, and up to 374.6 sq ft/hr in dual-CMYK mode.
The series also employs a newly formulated TrueVis Ink, offered in dual-CMYK, 7- (CMYKcmk), or 8-color (CMYKcmk + white) configurations. The inks are delivered in 500-mL pouches which fit into reusable cartridges; they are also GreenGuard Gold certified for low-VOC emissions.
The series is equipped with Roland’s VersaWorks Dual RIP software, with capabilities for interpreting native PDFs, legacy PostScript files, and files with transparencies. And, via Roland DG MobilePanel, users can perform control panel functions via their iOS or Android devices using a Bluetooth connection.
Additional features include LED lights inside the printer for status and maintenance checks and color-coded operation updates.
