France’s annual Cannes Film Festival ushered in more than just new movies and red carpet celebrities this year. Wide-format printing made a splash at hotels and meeting rooms near the venue, as well as the famed Palais des Festivals in Cannes, where the 15-day festival is held each year. To welcome guests to the festival, print-service provider O23 created a 25 x 32.5-meter version of the 2014 festival poster using its HP Scitex XL1500 latex printer with UV inks. Five media were printed, then thermoformed to create the final graphic, which depicts actor Marcello Mastroianni in the 1963 film “8½.”
