Record Results at INDOPLAS, INDOPACK, and INDOPRINT 2014

With strong exhibitor and visitor participation, the recent staging of INDOPLAS, INDOPACK (incorporating INDOPROCESS) and INDOPRINT 2014 closed successfully in Jakarta, Indonesia, surpassing expectations. The trade fair trio trio attracted more than 22,000 trade professionals from Indonesia and the surrounding region, a 20% increase compared to the last event held in 2012. A total of 362 exhibitors from 19 countries participated – 30% more than in 2012. The three exhibitions showcased an extensive range of the latest technology and equipment for the plastics, packaging, processing and printing sectors.

“It is very encouraging to see such a notable increase in exhibitors and visitors at the three exhibitions. This is a clear indication that these events are gaining importance and relevance in the plastics, packaging and printing industries,” said Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of the show organizer Messe Düsseldorf Asia.

The exhibits were complemented by an extensive conference and seminar programs from leading industry authorities such as the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), the Indonesian Packaging Federation and SML Maschinengesellschaft MBH from Austria as well as Lubrizol Engineered Polymers and Exxonmobil Chemical Asia Pacific. The well-attended events addressed market trends and technological demands. Concerning printing, Heidelberg Indonesia, KOPI GRAFIKA and the Thai Trade office focused on topics such as printing innovations, achieving profits and efficient machinery performance.

INDOPLAS, INDOPACK and INDOPRINT 2014 were successful in attracting international trade visitors, buyers and market specialists. Rachmat Sarwono, Director of Borobudur Industri Jamu PT, emphasized the synergies of the three exhibitions: “They are a good platform to find relevant technologies for my business and I came to look for better packaging machines.”

Highlighting the importance of each exhibition for the thriving domestic market, Peter Janusik, President of P.T. Heidelberg Indonesia, stated: “INDOPRINT 2014 attracted a wide range of customers from all over Indonesia. We were impressed with the quality and quantity of the visitors.” For other highly pleased exhibitors such as Bridget Ngang Shue Hui, Product & Marketing Manager at Kraiburg TPE Technology (M) Sdn Bhd, the exhibition proved to be “a good place to raise the company’s brand awareness and promote the use of TPE technology in Indonesia. We introduced our products to many interested visitors from around the region at our booth”.

International market players accounted for more than half of the exhibitors and occupied 70% of the show floor. Germany, Taiwan, Singapore and Austria were strongly represented alongside country group exhibits from China, Italy and Thailand. Paolo Gasparotta from Moretto SPA who has participated in the exhibitions consistently over the years, stated that he has seen good quality visitors “and made very strong leads at the exhibition.” First time INDOPLAS exhibitor Anston Tan, Principal at the German Training Centre for Injection Molding Asia, remarked: “We got good enquiries from the many visitors we talked to and are confident that we will be able to reach out to more potential clients due to the visibility we received at this exhibition.”

At INDOPRINT, PT Asaba Develop launched their DEGAS ineo+1060/1070 printing machine. According to Marketing Manager Ema Raharjo, the machine was well received by new customers “who bought our products. We will surely participate again at the INDOPRINT 2016 edition.” Other companies presenting new or newly improved products at the exhibitions especially for the Indonesian markets included Atlas Machinery, Kim Pai, and CYBER.

Jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and partner PT. Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI), INDOPLAS, INDOPACK and INDOPRINT will continue on its growth path to become Indonesia’s leading exhibitions for the plastic, packaging and printing sectors. “The trade fairs are well on their way to being the ideal gateway for companies to strengthen their business ties in Indonesia and to gain insight into the emerging growth sectors here as well as surrounding competitor markets,” explained Gernot Ringling. Rini Keim, Director of WAKENI, added: “With the outstanding performance and outcome of this year’s edition we are confident of bringing an even bigger and better show in 2016.”
