Picture Rescue Saves Lost Photos

Users who have accidentally deleted, unintentionally reformatted or found a media card with an inexplicable corruption still have hope from Picture Rescue from Prosoft Engineering.

The recently released Picture Rescue version 1.1.0 offers thumbnail previews of all recoverable images, drag-and-drop recovery, secure card erase, and speed/reliability improvements. The software utility can rescue a variety of file formats: JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, and several RAW formats (from Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Kodak, Minolta, Fuji, Sigma, Foveon, Casio, and Sony).

It does not support recovery from any CD-format media or pictures after format operation in Olympus and Fuji cameras using XD media.
Cost: $59. (Prosoft Engineering: www.prosofteng.com)
