Objectif Lune Acquires Atlas Software

Objectif Lune, the Montreal-based variable-data software developer, has acquired Atlas Software, whose product flagship is its PrintShop Mail software.

“We are excited about combining the synergies of our two organizations to achieve far more than we could as separate entities. This is truly an example of one plus one equaling three, as our capabilities have been strategically expanded to meet all transactional and promotional requirements, resulting in more profitable opportunities for our partners.” says Objectif Lune CEO Didier Gombert.

Atlas is headquartered in The Netherlands, and has 23 employees in that country; in addition, it has four US employees in Madisonville, TN. For now, both companies will work as separate entities, although the Objectif Lune company name has been added to the Atlas logo. The integration process, reports an Objectif Lune representative, “will be slow and careful and should be fully completed in 18 to 24 months.”

PrintShop Mail software, is geared to operations needing an easy-to-use desktop tool for variable information printing. Users gain the ability to use virtually any design program and database format and drive any PostScript print engine and all major RIP technologies. Features include variable images, instant preview, bar code printing and print automation for Web-and-print applications. There are 16,000 PrintShop Mail installations worldwide, reports Atlas.

Objectif Lune's solutions focus on software, services, and custom applications to enable variable data printing from any PostScript printer. The company's PlanetPress software is sold worldwide to a list of clients that includes printer manufacturers; corporate users (3M, Alphagraphics, BASF, ESPN, GM Detroit, UPS, etc.) and other financial, manufacturing, automotive, government and media organizations.
