Owners of NexPress 2100 digital production color presses will soon have a wider choice for papers, thanks to the new NexPress Solutions Substrate Qualification Program. Through the program, paper manufacturers can submit papers for testing by NexPress engineers. Qualified papers will be listed in the NexPress 2100 press substrate catalog which graphic designers and press operators use to set up electronic job tickets on the press.
Each substrate script optimizes print quality and reduces waste by telling the NexPress 2100 how much toner (i.e., NexPress DryInk?) to use for each impression. During the qualification trials, NexPress testing teams also set ICC color profiles and determine other variables that take into the account the size, weight and coating for each substrate.
The NexPress 2100 press was developed by NexPress Solutions LCC, a joint venture of Eastman Kodak Company and Heidelberger Drucksmaschinen AG. It is distributed and serviced by Heidelberg. (NexPress Solutions: www.nexpress.com)
