Nazdar Digital Offers Choice of Mimaki Printers

Nazdar Digital, a leading reseller of digital-printing equipment to screen-printers, signmakers, and other graphics firms, now offers both the Mimaki JV4 and JV3 series wide-format inkjet printers. Both printers are priced under $30,000 and feature Firewire interface to speed the printing of large, high-resolution files.

The JV4 series of aqueous inkjet printers are versatile devices that can be used for indoor-display graphics on flexible or rigid substrates, screen-printing positives, and shorter-term outdoor graphics. The JV3 solvent-system printers are targeted primarily at customers specializing in longer-term outdoor-durable graphics.

The Mimaki JV4 aqueous-system, variable-dot inkjets are available in 54-, 63-, and 73-in. widths and feature a versatile, six-color x 2 inkset configuration. For fast throughput (up to 290 sq ft/hr), the printers can use two sets of the same ink. Or, the printers can switch between six-color dye- or pigmented inks, or CMKYOG and CMYKcm inksets. The printers can operate at 360-, 540-, 720- or 1440-dpi print modes.

An artwork printing mode can be used to produce screen positives. The JV4 can also handle specially coated foamboards, card stock and other rigid materials. A newly designed mechanism with pinch and feed rollers keeps the media flat during feeding for high-quality images.

The easy-to-maintain, six-color, 63-in. Mimaki JV3 uses pigmented inks will last up to three years outside without lamination. For outdoor signage to be viewed at a distance, the JV3 prints at speeds up to 222 sq ft/hr in the 360 x 360 dpi mode. For photo-quality and indoor prints, the variable-dot JV3 inkjet can be operated in a 720 x 720 mode.

An automatic capping system eliminates the need to wash printheads each time the power is turned off. An automatic cleaning function prevent nozzle clogging, and an exhaust duct at the back of the printer supports easy ventilation. An optional front cover is available. Heating conditions can be set from either the printer operations panel or monitored automatically with the RIP software. (Nazdar Digital, 800-677-4567, www.nazdar.com)
