LaCie Introduces New 300 Series LCD Monitors

LaCie has introduced the second generation of its high-end 300 Series Monitors, comprising the LaCie 319 (19-in.), 320 (20-in.), and 321 (21-in.).

Designed for use by those serious about accurate color rendering, the new LCD monitors are Mac and PC-compatible. All of the displays feature 12-bit gamma correction for smoother color gradients and are adjusted at the factory to ensure uniform brightness and chromaticity, says LaCie. In addition, each of the monitors offers a CRT-grade color gamut in a flat-screen monitor; the gamut of displayed colors is 72% of NTSC video standards.

Specifics on each monitor:

* The LaCie 319 offers 1280 x 1024-pixel resolution, a luminance of 270 cd/m2, a viewing angle of 178?, and a contrast ratio of 600:1.

* The LaCie 320 offers a 1600 x 1200-pixel resolution, luminance of 280 cd/m2, a 178? viewing angle, and a contrast ratio of 700:1.

* The LaCie 321 offers 1600 x 1200 resolution, luminance of 250 cd/m2, a 178? viewing angle, and a contrast ratio of 500:1.

Each monitor ships with LaCie’s antiglare easyHood to minimize ambient lighting effects, a retractable hook for placement of a colorimeter during calibration, Version 4 of the LaCie blue eye pro calibration software, and Pivot Pro software for Windows. The monitors are available standalone or can be bundled with the LaCie blue eye pro colorimeter.

MSRPs: LaCie 319, $879 ($1099, bundled with LaCie blue eye pro); LaCie 320, $1399 ($1649, blue eye pro bundle); Lacie 321, $1599 ($1799, blue eye pro bundle). The 320 and 321 are available now; the 319 will be available in October, LaCie reports.
