Eastman Kodak has renamed its Commercial Printing Group”?it will now be named the Graphic Communications Group, and include Encad, NexPress Solutions, and Kodak Versamark. The group also will manage Kodak's interest in Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG), a 50-50 joint venture with Sun Chemical.
“Graphic Communications reflects how our customers view their business,” says James Langley, president of the Graphic Communications Group. “The business is changing”?driven largely by the requirement to repurpose content to both print and electronic forms of communication”?and is much larger than the term 'printing' implies.
“We are building a business architecture,” Langley continues, “that helps our customers make a better impression. It starts with understanding customer requirements in focused market segments. [And] we will work with both direct and indirect distribution channels to ensure that we have a competitive distribution capability and will provide our customers with 'one face'.”
The group boasts revenues of $2 billion, including approximately $1.5 billion in unconsolidated revenue from KPG. (Kodak, www.kodak.com)
