In typical post-Labor Day fashion, in-ground pool owners no longer have the luxury of lying out in the sun and jumping into chlorinated water to cool off. Instead, they have to bring out the tarp that covers the pool so that bugs, leaves, animals, and the like don’t find a home over the colder months.
Pool covers tend to be pretty drab looking, usually sold in a dark green or blue shade. But now there’s another option. Print shop Merritt Graphics (www.merrittgraphics.com), located in East Hartford, Connecticut, has helped startup company Pretty Pool Covers (www.prettypoolcovers.com) create stylish mesh pool covers designed to be placed over existing winter safety covers and liven up pool owners’ backyards. Using the company’s Matan Barak 8Q UV printer, Merritt prints stock and custom designs onto Ultra Flex 70/30 mesh banner material. The sunflower pool cover design, shown here, is 22.5 feet wide.
