Inca Digital has announced the launch of its Inca Onset R40i UV flatbed. This latest addition to the Inca Onset series – positioned between the company’s Onset Q40i and Onset S40i – utilizes Fujifilm Dimatix Spectra printheads, delivers a 14-pL drop size, and is based on the company’s Onset Scalable Architecture platform.
The new Onset is available in several color configurations: CMYK, CMYKcm, CMYK + white, and CMYKcm + white. Users can modify their machine from a 4-color configuration to 5, 6 or 7 colors (up to 8 ink channels – 2 for white ink). The machine utilizes Fujifilm Uvijet inks. Users can also adapt other elements of the printer to suit evolving production needs, including UV curing lamps, automation, speed modes, electronics and software, reports Inca.
A choice of uni-directional, bi-directional, and super high-quality print modes can be selected, depending on job requirements. The R40i boasts a top speed of 4306 sq ft/hr in 12-pass mode, with speeds of 3229 sq ft/hr in 18-pass mode and 1830 sq ft/hr in 32-pass mode. Max. resolution is 1200 dpi (apparent). It’s compatible with Inca’s flexible automation system, giving users the choice to operate manually, or with semi- or three-quarter automation. The new printer features a max. print area of 123.6 x 63 in. and can accommodate media up to 2-in. thick. The R40i also supports Inca’s Print Run Controller software for companies requiring variable-data printing capability.
