HOW, a creativity and business magazine for graphic-design professionals, is inviting all graphic designers, illustrators, photographers and students to pull out their best-looking promotional pieces from 2002 and enter them in the 16th annual Self-Promotion Competition. Any piece created to promote the designer, his or her company, or a client's image is eligible.
Entries are being accepted in 13 categories, including corporate identity, posters, wearables, 3D objects, and letterhead/logos. Entry fees range from $30 for a single entry to $50 for three or more pieces from a single campaign.
The Best of Show winner will be profiled in HOW's 2003 Self-Promotional Annual and will win a trip to the 2004 HOW Design Conference.
And, new for 2003, any in-house design team that wins multiple HOW competitions in a single year is eligible for the new In-House Design Group of the Year Award. The winning in-house design team will be profiled in the October 2003 issue of HOW and will win a creativity workshop led by creativity coach Christine Cashen.
Entry deadline is March 24, 2003. For rules and official entry form, visit their website at www.howdesign.com or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to HOW Self-Promotion Competition, Attn: Terri Boes, 4700 East Galbraith Rd., Cincinnati, OH 452326; or fax your request to 513-531-0798.
