Grimco to Acquire Proveer’s US Operations

Grimco, the St. Louis-based sign- and graphics-supply wholesaler, has announced it will acquire the US operations of Proveer Sign & Graphics. Proveer, with headquarters in Toronto, is distributor of a wide range of sign and graphics supplies, equipment, and services in the US and Canada. The Canadian operations of Proveer Sign & Graphics are excluded from the transaction and will remain under the ownership of affiliates of Liberty Lane Partners, LLC and management. The transaction is expected to close in Q2 of this year.

“The addition of Proveer’s product lines will position Grimco with one of the most complete product offerings in the industry,” says John Burkemper, president of Grimco, Inc. “We are committed to providing the best possible customer service from coast to coast, and this acquisition improves our geographic reach. This will greatly benefit the customers of both Grimco and Proveer.”

Proveer was formed in 2009 when Sign Supply USA and East West Plastic combined companies to create a single North American brand. The company has 15 US locations, including: Orlando, Pensacola, Miami, Pompano Beach, and Tampa, Florida; Kennesaw, Georgia; Garner, North Carolina; Summerville, South Carolina; Middleburg Heights, Ohio; Villa Park, Illinois; Quakertown, Pennsylvania; and Nashville, St. Louis, Denver, and Las Vegas.

“Our ownership and management teams remain committed to the sign and graphics market,” states Jack Laine, CEO of Proveer Sign & Graphics. “This opportunistic transaction makes strategic sense for Grimco, and we are confident that it will be beneficial to the customers of our United States operations. It will be business as usual for the customers and suppliers of our Canadian operations.”
