GMG has introduced the GMG Remote Calibration
Wizard, a remote-calibration tool that allows for users of GMG ColorProof at remote sites.
In the past, remote users either had to purchase the proofing application, or a host system would generate a test chart that had to be returned via courier to the host company??”??”??s office, where it would be calibrated.
GMG??”??”??s Remote Calibration Wizard allows remote calibration without remote users purchasing or installing ColorProof.
The Wizard??”??”??s interface issues a request to the host??”??”??s ColorProof system to send a test chart. Once the test chart is printed to the remote, networked digital printer, the customer uses a spectrophotometer to enter the results into the application. Those results are automatically sent back to the host ColorProof system, which makes any necessary adjustments.
The Remote Calibration Wizard is compatible
with all printers and measuring instruments that are supported by GMG, such as X-Rite and GretagMacbeth measuring
tools as well as Canon, Epson, and HP printers??”??”?including HP??”??”??s recently introduced Designjet Z2100 printer that features a built-in spectrophotometer for automatic calibration (a GMG ColorProof user would simply ask the system to calibrate
the printer at a remote site, and the printer and GMG software would do the rest, without manual intervention).
