EFI Debuts Optitex 3D Design Illustrator

EFI has launched the Optitex 3D Design Illustrator, a plug-in tool allowing designers to validate and customize 3D garments in Adobe Illustrator. The tool imports 2D and 3D pattern files or building block libraries into Illustrator and activates a window with a side-by-side 3D representation of the pattern. Users can view 3D garments with accurate proportion and scaling, which enables customization of fabric, texture, patterns, and graphic placement without the need for a printed sample, according to the company. The final file can be exported as a picture or 3D file and sent directly for digital or sublimation printing.
