DPI Launches Innovator Award

DPI is launching its DPI Innovator Award, which provides recognition of those individuals who “have had a strong, significant and lasting effect on the development of materials, equipment, technologies and/or markets in the digital imaging industry.” Individuals eligible for the award must have worked in either a printing/imaging company, or in a company that supplies materials, equipment, or technical information to the industry.

Nominations for the award will be judged by an award-review committee comprising DPI members. Nominations must be postmarked by August 12, 2005.

Nominations also are being accepted for DPI's 2005 Andre Schellenberg award, Product of the Year, and Vision Awards. These three programs are designed to locate and highlight the best work, equipment, and tools available to the digital imaging industry:

“? Andre Schellenberg award: Recognizes companies achieving excellence in digital imaging. Five categories are available”?digital photo print, inkjet, textile, unique applications, and fine art (two awards presented within each category). All entries are automatically considered for “Best of Show” and “Best in Digital Creativity” awards. Cost to enter: first entry is free to DPI members or with DPI membership; each additional entry is $20.

“? Product of the Year award: Recognizes products that have had a significant impact on the digital printing and imaging industry in 2004/2005. Five categories available”?software and related systems, media and consumables, textile products, output devices, and finishing. To be eligible for consideration, the product must be manufactured by a firm that is exhibiting at SGIA '05, and it must be on display at the show.

“? Vision award: Recognizes the potential of new products to have “a significant and profound effect” on the digital imaging industry. Only one award is given; entries are judged on relevance to the digital printing and imaging industry, potential impact on the industry, and potential value to technology users. Products nominated must have been installed and tested at beta test sites during the 12 months immediately prior to SGIA 2005.
