Caldera Confirms Commitment to Industrial Print with InPrint 2016 Return

Leading RIP software developer Caldera has announced it will be attending this year’s InPrint exhibition in Milan from 15th to 17th November. As the only event designed exclusively for the emerging industrial print sector, InPrint attracts delegates from across the spectrum of functional and decorative industrial printing, including digital ink-jet, specialty and additive manufacturing technologies – all of which are supported by Caldera’s wide-ranging partner strategy, enabling a wealth of new and inventive applications.

“This will be fertile ground for us,” explains Caldera’s OEM Director Valery de March. “We have a shared interest with many of the delegates in exploring new applications in digital inkjet and printing direct-to-object – and several of them are already our partners.” Caldera has integrated significant projects and worked with major players confirmed on the show floor, including Fujifilm, Inca Digital, GIS, Thieme, Machines Dubuit, DPS Innovation and Ardege, as well as other major hardware manufacturers and systems integrators.

As with previous years, Caldera welcomes partners from all backgrounds to explore opportunities in direct-to-object, specialist or long-run interior decorative, and functional applications. The team will demonstrate its workflow connector, Nexio, as the ideal starting point from which it can help companies build new industrial processes that solve problems and streamline the production process. Nexio enables this by connecting programs and hardware using industry standard JDF/JMF protocols, making it possible to create automatic sequences of actions regardless of their beginning and end point within the workflow.

For this type of project-driven approach, Caldera’s Solutions Integration Department was formed in 2014 and has successfully spearheaded a number of projects in this fashion. This department builds connections between RIP, workflow, MIS, accounting and other software packages, leading to interoperability benefits from improved file automation and production reporting. This unique team is dedicated to helping companies reap the maximum returns from their production floor by linking software processes and streamlining hardware control, guaranteeing that seamless integration is at the forefront of any project.

Although manufacturing companies, fabricators for international brands and those developing cross-process applications have typically been the audience for industrial print integrators, Caldera is also able to accommodate smaller developers. GrandRIP+ Industrial Edition will also be on show, featuring the incorporation of the feature set introduced with Caldera’s signature V11 suite this year. This special version of GrandRIP+ allows inventors, engineers and those with evolving applications the chance to experiment with their products before committing to long-run production and a fully integrated workflow.
According to Valery de March: “Nexio represents a step forward in the automation process, resulting in significant savings in time, money and resources. Our roadmap focuses on creating integrated solutions in partnership with industry innovators – and we’re looking forward to meeting new partners and exchanging exciting ideas at InPrint this November.”
