Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op in Middlebury, Vermont, aims to provide healthy, sustainably produced, and competitively priced foods and products to its customers. Proud of its mission and ownership principles, the co-op shares its unique attributes through the graphics featured on the walls of the market.
For Awesome Graphics, a wide-format print shop in Rutland, Vermont, the co-op is a repeat customer. Most recently, Awesome Graphics provided 120 square feet of interior vinyl wall wraps for five different spots throughout the store. For any project using vinyl, the PSP first completes a field test to be sure the substrates adhere properly to any paint or finishes that are present on the wall surface, says Tami Napolitano, owner of Awesome Graphics, which is celebrating its 25th year in business.
The centerpiece of the print project is the co-op’s 7 x 7-foot sunshine logo greeting customers as they enter the market and grab a shopping cart. Additional visuals direct patrons to specific foods or explain the principles behind the cooperative store.
Awesome Graphics printed the entire project using a Roland Soljet Pro 4 XR-640 with Eco-Sol Max 2 eco-solvent inks onto 3M Scotchcal Graphic Film IJ35 with 3M UV laminate via a Seal laminator. Once printed and laminated, they die cut, weeded, and taped the graphics. Each wall of visuals took about 90 minutes for Awesome Graphics’ installer to put into place.
Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is a typical customer for the eight-person shop, which frequently completes jobs for small businesses. Napolitano says she works with her clients to present their projects in a unique way while staying within their budget. “Our business has thrived and grown in the retail P-O-P and signage industry,” she adds.
