DuPont has introduced its latest inkset for the Artistri textile printing system”?
Solar Brite. This 8-color, colorfast digital textile inkset is designed to be used with
SolarMax outdoor fabric.
DuPont claims that Solar Brite ink, in conjunction with the pretreated SolarMax fabric, provides superior ultra-viole resistance, durability, and color penetration, making it ideal for the flag and outdoor fabric markets. “The combination of our DuPont Artistri Solar Brite ink and the
Artistri system will enable flag and banner manufacturers to achieve high quality,
economical short run, and customized production capability, making them much
more competitive in the markets they serve,” says Joseph Gutosky, DuPont InkJet business development manager.
SolarMax nylon fabric was introduced by DuPont in 1996 for use in outdoor fabric
applications, such as flags and banners, hot-air balloons, tents, and parachutes.
According to DuPont, it is highly resistant to UV fading, allowing the use of deeper, brighter colors that will last longer. It's also mildew- and soil-resistant, and offers better
washfastness and lightfastness.
In addition, DuPont has opened its DuPont Artistri Technology Center in Cavenago (Milan), Italy. The center will provide technology training, customer demonstrations, and customer-service support for the DuPont Artistri digital-printing textiles system, which consists of the DuPont Artistri 020 printer, Artistri ink, and Artistri software. It is specifically designed for short-to-medium runs on cotton and cotton/polyester material blends, with the aqueous ink
not requiring fabric pretreatment. Applications include apparel, home furnishings,
