Alien Skin Software has released Eye Candy 6, the latest version of its graphic-design special-effects plug-in for Adobe Photoshop.
Version 6 of the software features include: the ability to work with the 64-bit version of Photoshop; improved pre-sets that automatically adapt to image size; 30 filters, more than 1000 pre-sets (organized into categories), and hundreds of controls; multiple techniques for non-destructive editing in Photoshop, including Smart Filter support and rendering effects on a duplicate of the original layer; a simple user interface; the ability to customize each effect and save those settings; “tooltips” that now appear above every control and a detailed popup manual; and connection to the Alien Skin website (which has a library of tutorial videos, example images, a knowledge base, and a discussion forum).
Eye Candy 6 requires one of the following host applications: Adobe Photoshop CS3 or later, Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 or later on Mac OS X, Photoshop Elements 7 or later on Windows, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, or Adobe Fireworks CS4.
Price of Eye Candy 6: $249. Owners of previous Eye Candy versions can upgrade for $99.
