A Theatrical Timeline

When the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego received a grant to create an exhibit showcasing its 75-year history, designer Llance Bower jumped at the chance, creating a visual timeline featuring iconic theatrical illustrations hand drawn by costume designer Anna Oliver.
Quantum Digital Imaging (qdimaging.com), also in San Diego, assisted in the digitizing of the files, and color matched the artwork to provided paint swatches. Quantum’s final output of the detailed graphics was onto HP PVC-free self-adhesive Wall Paper using its HP Designjet L25500 printer with HP latex inks, addressing the curved wall with corners and beams. The shop used HP Permanent Adhesive Matte Vinyl mounted to 3A Composites’ Gator board to create text panels explaining each historical phase along the timeline. Quantum also performed the install work.
