WITH THE HELP of a local graphics installation company, an AMC movie theater in Los Angeles displayed an eye-catching set of window graphics to promote “Babylon,” the recently released film starring Brad Pitt.

Applied Graphics & Signs installed the graphics, which were trimmed into 54 sections to fit each glass panel of the giant windows at the AMC The Grove 14. The total application space measured 47 feet wide by 18 feet high.

The graphics were produced with a Durst Rho 512R Plus roll-to-roll UV inkjet printer and imaged onto Drytac SpotOn Clear Gloss media, flood-coated with white for opacity.

“This product was chosen for this short-term application as it can be easily repositioned in tight, obstructed areas,” says Fadi Ballut, president of Applied Graphics & Signs.

Servicing southern California and Chicago, Applied Graphics & Signs specializes in architectural resurfacing, wide-format installations, decorative window films, and hardware-mounted signage. The company is based in Los Angeles.

National Installations, a project management specialist, and Olson Visual, a creator of visual marketing stunts with a foothold in the entertainment industry, also served as partners in the project.

“[The client] was ecstatic with the results of our production partners and installation team,” Fadi adds.

  • Smooth
Working with a “dot-pattern” adhesive enables bubble- and wrinkle-free application to various surfaces.
  • Trustworthy
Image quality and reliable adhesion were key components requested by the client.
  • Fast
“Using Drytac SpotOn, we saved time on installation with a dry application, rather than traditional routes of a wet-applied film for second surface,” Fadi says.
