What Would You Like to Digitally Decorate?

In April, Roland DGA demonstrated a second-generation version of their FlatJET high-resolution flatbed inkjet printer that is currently in development. In addition to being able to image to rigid materials at resolutions as high as 1440 dpi, the FlatJET will also be able to image to materials up to six inches thick. Prior to the showing of the prototype machine, Roland product manager Rick Scrimger output images on a collection of objects, including the vases, ceiling tiles, wood blocks and towels shown here. Now, before the machine specs are finalized, Roland engineers are seeking application ideas from creative professionals and graphics producers.
