A GREAT VEHICLE WRAP can be a conversation starter, lead generator, or simply an impressive point of pride. Three great wraps centered around an extreme voodoo snowman character combined into one cohesive set? Well, that’s a special combination. Chris Thiessen, owner of Wide Open Throttle Graphics, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, designed, produced, and installed this matching branded wrap for his truck, snowmobile, and snowmobile deck to expand his company’s branding approach. He installed these wraps on his vehicles as Wide Open Throttle kicked off some avalanche training and riding clinics for the winter season.

Just two years ago, Thiessen fell in love with snowmobiles and centered his entire business around them. “After trying snowmobile riding for the first time, I loved it,” says Thiessen. “I like to say that experience sentenced me to a life behind (handle) bars.” Now, not only does Wide Open Throttle Graphics design and install wraps for snowmobiles and other extreme vehicles, they also rent out snowmobiles and avalanche kits for the winter season. He wanted to advertise these services as he drove around the slopes.

Thiessen printed the wraps on his Roland DG TrueVIS VG2-540 printer onto 6 mm vinyl from Substance Incorporated, and laminated the project with 15 mm Substance Incorporated laminate using a Royal Sovereign cold laminator. All of the vehicles wrapped by Wide Open Throttle operate in extreme temperatures and icy conditions, and the graphics must be applied perfectly to avoid “getting bashed through trees, stumps, and rocks,” says Thiessen.

This entire project, including the photography, was completed in less than 48 hours, just in time for sessions to start.
