At the upcoming Sign Expo, Lamitech-Daving, a long-time manufacturer of innovative paperboard-based products, will demonstrate Jetboard, an economical, inkjet-receptive, solid-white paperboard for the production of short-term indoor, P-O-P signage. The .056-in. paperboard can be used with aqueous dye-based inks on wide-format inkjet printers that can handle rigid substrates (e.g., the Encad NovaJet 880 or Mimaki JV4) or have straight-feed paper paths (e.g. the ColorSpan Esprit and Epson Stylus Pro 9000).

According to Lamitech-Daving's Andrew Londergan, Jetboard is sufficiently durable and crush-resistant that lamination isn't needed for short-term signs. Jetboard is available with two types of coatings. The Satin product, priced in the $0.60/sq ft. range, has high opacity on one side and is designed for fast production. The Mirror-finished product, which lists for about $1.00/sq ft., optimizes the look of photorealistic images on short-term signs. Both products are 100% recylcable.
