US Sublimation, a division of PrintVillage, has introduced a new coated transfer paper for digital dye sublimation”?JetTran HR. Designed to release the highest amount of ink to the substrate, JetTran HR reduces ink consumption, while improving image quality, reports the company.

The new media has a special coating that receives the ink, but doesn”?t allow it to penetrate the paper”?s inner layers. With most of the ink trapped in the coating layer, the ink more easily moves to the substrate during the sublimation process. And since inks don”?t reach the paper layers, cockling is also reduced.

Available in several weights from 75 to 150 gsm, JetTran HR will replace the company”?s JetCol paper as its preferred paper to use with the US Sublimation”?s LFP dye-sublimation ink (formerly Rotech Digital USA). US Sublimation reports that most users will not have to reprofile when switching to JetTran, since both have similar color and transfer properties.

In addition, US Sublimations is adding a TexPrintXP Plus paper for printers that are 64 in. and wider; it will be available in 87-, 98-, and 104-in. rolls. This heavyweight paper resists cockling during printing, quickly dries to the touch, and rewinds without wet transfer.
