Two New Displays From Samsung

Samsung has debuted two displays: the 20-in. SyncMaster XL20 and the 30-in. SyncMaster 305T.


The SyncMaster XL20 is an LED backlight unit engineered for color-critical applications. The display covers up to 114% of the NTSC color gamut; (traditional LCD screens cover only 82% of NTSC, while CRTs cover only 76%, says Samsung). It boasts a resolution of 1600 x 1200, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 250 cd/m2 brightness, a 178??”? viewing angle, and an 8-ms response time. The XL20 also features a Color Management System that includes: color calibration; Image Viewer, which automatically corrects color differences between monitors and printers; and Natural Color Expert software, which allows users to calibrate the monitor??”??”??s color profile to fit their specific color requirements. MSRP: $1999.


The SyncMaster 305T features a 16:10 wide-screen design coupled with a 2560 x 1600 resolution. Aimed at various applications, including graphic design, the display??”??”??s specifications include 400 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 178o viewing angle, and a response time of 6 ms. Its 80mm height-adjustable stand has flexible tilt and swivel capabilities. MSRP: $1999.99.
