Olympus has announced two digital SLRs: the EVolt E-410 and the E-510, successors to the company’s E-400 and E-500 models, respectively. Both are 10-Mpxl cameras.

The EVolt E-410 features a live-view HyperCrystal LCD (2.5-in.), high-performance MOS image sensor, the company’s Dust Reduction System and Supersonic Wave Filter, and TruePic III image processor. It has 30 automatic shooting modes for a variety of shooting situations, including Digital Image Stabilization, Night Scene, Fireworks, Beach and Snow, Underwater, Candle Light, and xD Panorama mode. Estimated street price: $699, body only; $799, with ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens; $899, with ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 and ED 40-150mm f4.0/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lenses.

The EVolt E-510 has all the features of the E-410 and also adds Advanced Image Stabilization, designed to keep images sharp and prevent camera shake even when the camera is moving. The camera provides two modes of accurate high-speed image stabilization: One mode provides blur-free photography for everyday situations like low-light settings, while the other mode helps capture clear images even while panning during action shots. Because the stabilization technology is built into the camera’s body, it works with every lens that the E-510 can accommodate. Estimated street price: $799, body only; $899, with 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens; $999, Two Lens Kit (body, 14-42mm and 40-150mm lenses).
