AutoART's newDark digital transfer paper can be used to transfer toner-based images output from a color laser printer or copier to a wide range of light and dark fabrics, including cotton, polyester, twill and canvas. It also works with uncoated hard substrates such as mugs, tiles, metals, woods and plastics.

Because digitally printed toners and inks are transparent, the transferred colors are typically overpowered by black backgrounds. NewDark provides a white barrier between the transparent colors and the dark background so the colors remain visible and vibrant. The paper's built-in polyester coating makes transferred images dishwasher-safe and scratchproof in most cases. The NewDark paper also helps preserve the natural feel of the image.

According to AutoArt, transferred images don't bleed and printers can be run at full speed. When the NewDark paper is used with AutoArt's DuraSub sublimation toners, color images can be printed for about the same cost per square inch as regular toners. The DuraSub toners are compatible with QMS 6100, Brother 3450 or 2600, or Tally 8006, 8106, 8306 or 8406 printers. (AutoART: 800-839-3466, www.autoartusa.com)
