Two polyester laminating films from Toray Plastics are designed to retain high optical clarity while protecting promotional graphics from the damaging effects of UV light, rain, ozone and pollution. Lumirror”? U6V and U6V1 are co-extruded, UV-stabilized, polyester films. Both are color neutral, don't degrade or yellow, and retain optical clarity. In addition, Toray claims that these high-strength, dimensionally stable products are easy to handle during graphics fabrication.

Lumirror films are available in 1 to 2 mil thicknesses and widths ranging from 25 to 78 in. The films are designed for indoor and outdoor graphics output with inkjet, flexo, litho or gravure inks; U6V1 is coated for greater ink adhesion.

Toray Plastics is a $9 billion manufacturer of polyester and polylpropylene films for a variety of applications. Its graphics-protecting films are sold through suppliers such as FLEXcon, Transilwrap, GBC, Charrette or Graphic Laminating. (Toray Plastics America Inc.: www.torayfilms.com)
