To boost the appeal of Canon ImagePrograf W7200 and 7250 wide-format inkjet printers in the CAD marketplace, Tekgraf and Canon USA are enhancing the printers with SCP's new Daylight CAD software. SCP DaylightCAD for Canon uses SCP's HPGL rasterizing technology to turn Canon's 36-in. inkjet printers into fast CAD plotters. The input hotfolder allows easy integration into output from CAD applications, and the software supports formats such as HPGL, HPGL-2 and HP-RTL. SCP Daylight CAD for Canon allows HPGL pen settings to be redefined and includes both vector and raster previews and scaling from 1% to 1000%.

Canon's ImagePrograf printers are thermal inkjet printers that use dye-based inks, and a one-in. wide printhead developed by Canon's own R&D team. The printheads use 7680 nozzles and Canon's MicroFine Droplet technology to achieve a combination of speed, quality, and precision.

Tekgraf provides integrated digital systems to dealers and customers in the graphic-arts, wide-format printing, and large-format document imaging markets. Tekgraf also provides channel-management distribution services; technology products and consumables; and professional services including demos, training, installation, color certification, and call-center support.
