SwissQprint, Sihl Direct Part Ways

SwissQprint and distributor Sihl Direct have announced that they will “amicably” discontinue their 9-year partnership, effective April 1, 2017.

“Both our companies have changed significantly in recent years, and so has the market,” say Siegfried Zilliger, managing director of Sihl Direct, and Reto Eicher, CEO of swissQprint, in a joint statement. “A realignment is the logical consequence and the best thing for our customers.”

The statement also reports that Sihl will focus its efforts on its established media business, while swissQprint plans to establish its own subsidiary to manage distribution of its UV inkjet printers in Germany. Sihl Direct employees who have worked on the swissQprint business have been offered positions at the new subsidiary.

The two companies will make their final joint appearance at Viscom in Frankfurt, Germany, November 2-4.
