Sihl Digital Imaging has released its new films for use with solvent and mild-solvent inkjet printers. Its 3533 TransSol Frontprint WF 220 satin is a 9-mil translucent, satin-coated, tear-resistant rigid PVC film. Designed for backlit applications, it features high color brilliance and image definition, long durability, and short drying times. Its water-fast coating also offers good light-diffusing properties and stiffness, as well as lay-flat properties.

Designed for window applications and P-O-P retail applications, 3505 ClearSol Film WF 125 gloss is a 5-mil transparent polyester film. The film provides color pop with high ink limits and short drying time, reports Sihl; in addition, the film features dimensional stability, is good for use with white ink, and may be used for backlit applications with diffuser panels. Both films are available in 36- and 54-in. rolls.
