Cincinnati Diner Gets a Visual Makeover With Seamless Wall Coverings

WHEN THE COLUMBUS, Ohio-based Atchley Graphics was tasked with revamping the interior of Cap City Diner’s Cincinnati location, the PSP was determined to create an unforgettable visual experience for its client, Branda Foos Gallery. This project involved installing multiple large-scale wall coverings that enhanced the restaurant’s atmosphere while maintaining the integrity of the brand.

Precision printing and premium materials were used to achieve a seamless, high-end finish. To do so, the team selected a JM Mediatex Covertex seamless 120″ wall covering, which is a durable and visually striking material. The prints were produced using an EFI 32R 126″ UV wide-format printer, which provides vibrant colors and lasting quality.

Creating and developing an innovative installation in a live restaurant environment was a feat in itself. But the Atchley team worked around that and other challenges. One significant concern was the fixed leather-upholstered booths, which couldn’t be moved during installation. To work around this, the team engineered a custom scaffolding system to protect the seating while precisely installing the prints.

Additionally, the work had to be completed under tight deadlines as the restaurant remained operational throughout the process.

This project stood out due to its flawless execution and the use of seamless, wide-format wall coverings — a relatively new innovation in the industry. The seamless application not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal but also improved durability, making it ideal for the high-traffic restaurant environment.
