Scitex Vision Relaunches BEL2000 as CORJet

Following the consolidation of Scitex Vision and Aprion, the production-speed flatbed printer formerly known in the US as the BEL2000 and in Europe as the Shaldaq SP has been named the CORJet?.

Built by Scitex Vision in Netanya, Israel, the six-color, 600-dpi printer uses water-based, pigmented inks and Aprion printheads. It is recommended for printing on sheets of corrugated substrates and paper-based liners on rigid substrates.

The CorJet can automatically load, print, and unload sheets of material in sizes up to 63 x 122 in. and thicknesses up to 0.39 in. (10 mm). Throughput speed is rated at 1614 sq/ft hr, or about 33 sheets per hour.

Scitex Vision is promoting the printer for use in the production of P-O-P displays, including versioning, trial runs and test marketing, and seasonal and time-sensitive promotions.

The CorJet printer is sold as a soup-to-nuts system, including ApriRIP software, a system controller, an automatic substrate loader and unloader, and integrated dryer. The newly redesigned loader/unloader includes two elevators for loading and unloading and a vacuum sheet-transportation system. Depending on the number of sheets to be fed into the machine, the loader elevator automatically aligns itself with the vacuum feed system. The vacuum feeder then lifts the media, aligns it, and feeds it into the printer. A similar process is used to unload and stack prints exiting the dryer.
