Roland DGA has added a version of its Rolandprintstudio RIP software designed for Mac OS X. The program offers 64-bit processing capabilities and renders artwork via the Adobe PDF Print Engine for a more straightforward workflow. Users can also RIP, print, and cut on two devices simultaneously.

Additional features include:
• Unlimited hot folders for automation;
• An access bar that stores and sorts images;
• An advanced nesting facility designed to minimize media waste;
• An automatic pricing function;
• A spooler function that allows multiple users to submit to a print queue and access historical job settings;
• Built-in color libraries, including RAL, HKS, and Pantone;
• A profiling module for creating custom ICC profiles;
• A tiling function for large graphics, tiles, and vehicle wraps;
• And a grommet tool.

The company says the offering is intended, in part, to assist designers are beginning to add digital printing to their services, but typically work in Mac-only environments.
