Roland Launches Hi-Fi Express FP-740

A dedicated sublimation printer, Roland”?s new Hi-Fi Express FP-740 is designed to produce dye-sub graphics for applications such as banners, flags, and other textiles and soft signage.

Joining Roland”?s other sublimation machines”?the 104-in. SolJet-1045 EXS and the 30- or 54-in. VersaCamm printer/cutters”?this 74-in. printer offers 4-color printing onto transfer paper using Roland”?s HeatWave sublimation inks. Complete with eight 200-ml ink cartridges (two per color), the inks can be refilled on the fly.

Utilizing eight printheads, the FP-740 offers a maximum resolution of 720 x 720 dpi and top speeds of 548 sq ft/hr at a 270 x 360-dpi print mode. The included VersaWorks RIP maximizes the printer”?s performance, has advanced color-management tools, and offers a wide variety of layout, edit, and print functions, including nesting and tiling. It features an automatic take-up system, which includes a sensor-guided system that adjusts to eliminate slack in the media.

For automated routine maintenance, the printer features an Advanced Intelligent Maintenance System, which monitors the systems and adjusts maintenance intervals accordingly. As a result, manual cleaning around the head and capping station is only recommended every two weeks. The system helps ensure that the printer can be left unattended for extended periods of time without drying inks or clogging printheads, the company reports.
