Roland is now bundling the new COLORIP 2.0 with its VersaCAMM, EX, and Pro II inkjets. Version 2 integrates output settings such as device selection, ink type, media, and print mode, displaying them on a master queue window that makes it easier to track multiple jobs. A new Color Transformations window makes it easier to edit pertinent ICC profiles, linearization, and ink limits. In addition to working from PostScript files, version 2.0 can print directly from TIFF, JPEG, EPS, PS, PDF 1.4, and DCS 2.0 files.

“Roland COLORIP 2.0 will boost inkjet productivity for both expert printmakers and beginners,” says Patrick Chen, Roland product manager. “Right out of the box, it makes printing fast and easy with enhanced production features and color controls.”

Other features include: easier-to-use interface; ful Adobe Postscript? 3? compatibility; ICC profiles of Roland medias; automatic/manual cropping, nesting, or tiling; enhanced color-management features; and support for CMYK plus LcLm and OG, as well as precision contour cutting.

Current owners can upgrade to the new bundled software for free. (Roland DGA: 800-542-2307; www.rolanddga.com)
