Quark Inc. has launched its QuarkXPress Certified Expert program, designed to provide tangible assurance to prospective clients and employers that a certified user is technically proficient with QuarkXPress. To earn the certification, QuarkXPress users must pass an online examination demonstrating they have the skills, expertise, and proficiency to successfully deliver projects using the software. Certified users receive authorization to display the QuarkXPress Certified Expert logo on business cards and websites, as well as on marketing and promotional materials. Certified users also are included in an online QuarkXPress Certified Expert Directory.

The online test consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. Users have up to 3 hours to complete the exam, although it normally takes about 90 minutes to complete; users receive test results upon completion. A signed certificate of completion is delivered following the test. The cost of the certification test is $169, and is administered by Against the Clock Inc., an independent training provider (cost to re-test is $89).

“It's great to offer our end users this opportunity to advance their presence in today's competitive job market by giving them a level of increased credibility with current or potential clients or employers,” says Dave Ebersole, QuarkAlliance program specialist. “With more and more businesses using certification to develop a highly trained staff, what better way to set yourself apart from your competition?” (QuarkXPress Certified Expert program: www.quark.com/partners/certified_expert/)
