Wide-format roller blinds pull together a dynamic theater backdrop.

Theatrical drapery provider Prompt Side brought function and art together for the set of “On The Town,” a dance musical performed at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in London. Designed by Peter McKintosh, the set called for working roller blinds that matched the scenery, so Prompt Side crafted panels from PVC and imaged them via an EFI Vutek GS3250LX Pro LED printer.

Karen Baker, marketing manager, says managing colors and staying true to the designer’s vision is the biggest challenge on these projects; they’re often given a swatch or model piece, rather than a Pantone number, to work from.
