Oris Expands Proofing Products

CGS Publishing Technologies has introduced two new proofing products: ORIS Color Tuner 5.1 and ORIS Certified Proof 1.1.

Oris Color Tuner 5.1 includes a step-by-step Wizard aimed at less-sophisticated users as well as support for Pantone's Hexachrome color systems. The upgraded Wizard also aids in proofer installation, linearization, and device calibration. Using the Wizard, multiple users in different locations can align their printers to a single standard. The package also includes direct connectivity with the X-Rite DTP41, support for many new inkjet printers, faster RIP processing, and drag-and-drop printing. Designed for smaller workgroups, the Personal Editor will make use of the Mac OS built-in printer-sharing capabilities.

Oris Certified Proof 1.1 is a cross-platform, proof-quality-control system. It provides a simple, measurement-based verification of any proof, and is available for Windows or Mac OS X. Other enhancements include support for the X-Rite DTP41, improved data trend tracking, easy detection of output problems, and better visualization of measurement values.

Certified Proof 1.1 includes the software, an Eye-One measurement device, and a Dymo printer for creating certification labels. (CGS Publishing, www.cgsusa.com)
