Orbus Exhibit & Display Group®, one of North America’s leading trade suppliers of display, exhibit and event solutions is pleased to announce that the company’s continuous environmental protection and recycling efforts saved thousands of trees, hours of energy and kept 390 tons of materials out of landfills in 2015.

The company’s two manufacturing and distribution facilities – headquarters in Woodridge, IL and flagship facility in Las Vegas, NV – are certified under the ISO 14001:2004 standard, which provides guidelines to establish and maintain an environmental management system through minimizing harmful effects on the environment caused by business activities and achieving continual improvement of environmental performance. Orbus employees are encouraged daily to reduce waste headed to landfills.

Orbus strives to follow strict guidelines in daily operations. In 2015, the company’s recycling efforts resulted in 205,300 lbs. of cardboard, 60,000 lbs. of aluminum, 440,000 lbs. of fabric and 76,000 lbs. of plastic being recycled at both facilities. Recycling bins in employee lunch rooms, cubicles and offices, along with fabric, plastic and paper recycling programs in the warehouses encourage and enable such results. In addition, the company also recycles batteries, electronics, old pallets and skids, and steel. Orbus’ recycling efforts reduced the amount of waste sent to landfills from both locations by 21% in 2015.

“Orbus makes it a priority to protect and preserve the environment, especially in the area surrounding our manufacturing headquarters,” said Jim Concannon, Operations Manager for Orbus. “We are proud to watch the amount of materials that we divert from landfills each year continue to grow, enabling employees to continue saving our natural resources.”
