Orbus Exhibit & Display Group, the North American supplier of display, exhibit, and event solutions, plans to expand its operation with the construction of a new 350,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Woodbridge, Illinois.

The new building will help Orbus consolidate its current operations as well as bring its team of 350 employees together into one facility, the company reports. In 2010, Orbus merged with Nimlok (nimlok.com); this move is its last step in the consolidation of the company’s Illinois-based operations, and will serve to combine its custom exhibit manufacturing with its portable display production and distribution, the company announced.

“Our staff is the lifeblood of our business and key to our success,” says Giles Douglas, president and CEO of Orbus. “It was critical for us to minimize the impact to our employees with this decision. Much time was invested to select a location that our employees can get to easier and faster.”

A 20-acre site in Woodridge will be home to the new building. The design and construction of the building will allow for possible future expansion from 350,000 to 430,000 square feet and an increase of 350 car parking spaces to 450. The company held a groundbreaking ceremony on September 23, 2013, to kick-off the construction.

“Having the opportunity to build a new building gives us great options to organize and plan for the growth of the business,” says Douglas. “We are thankful to be in a position to do so and have great excitement and expectations for what we can achieve with unified operations.”
