At ISA, Oracal introduced its own vinyl product designed to produce a bubble-free vehicle wrap: OraJet Series 3551RA with RapidAir technology. The RapidAir product line is intended for use over flat surfaces, simple corrugations, and rivets (including partial vehicle warps and box trucks).

The RapidAir line incorporates an intersecting cellular design into the liner to create a system of air-egress channels in the film”?s adhesive, the company explains. When the film is applied to the substrate, the channels allow the release of trapped air, creating a smooth, bubble-free application. Its repositionable adhesive enables a more precise installation, says the company.

Compatible with solvent, mild-solvent, and UV-curable printers, the 2.75-mil film features an ultra-glossy surface for vivid colors and a 7-yr durability, but can be cleanly removed for up to 4 years with little or no adhesive residue, says Oracal. It is backed by the company”?s Advanced Color Management program. Users can contact the company for ICC profiles, as well as for help with various workflow and color-management issues.

The product, which is available in 30-, 54-, and 60-in splice-free rolls that are 164-ft long, will begin shipping this summer. Oraguard Series 290 is the matched laminate for this product.
