Oce Introduces 65-in. CS9065

Oce has unveiled its latest rollfed printer”?the Oce CS9065. This CMYK 65-in.printer is designed for short-run print jobs and for light production environments where high-quality output and outdoor durability are required, such as indoor and outdoor P-O-S signage, vinyl and textile banners, vehicle graphics, exhibition displays, and window graphics.

The CS9065 operates with either the company”?s Low-solvent or Eco-solvent inks (buyer must choose which inkset at time of purchase). Both inks are able to print onto a variety of coated and uncoated media, including self-adhesive vinyls, banner, and textile media, as well as indoor and outdoor paper products. Print longevity using Low-solvent inks is 3-yr outdoor without lamination, and graphics are scratch-, smear-, and crack-resistant. Eco-solvent inks offer the same benefits as Low-solvent inks with an outdoor durability up to 3 yrs. Inks are available in 220- or 440-ml cassettes.

The difference between the two inksets lies in terms of environmental impact, reports Oce. Low-solvent inks produce less solvent odors than full-solvent inks; an optional air purification system is available for use with these inks. Eco-solvent inkset do not emit harmful VOCs into the working environment and can be used in regular office or printshops without an air purification system, says the company. The CS9065″?s automated self-maintenance system requires operator maintenance of less than 5 min/day when the Low-solvent inks are used; machines running Eco-solvent inks require twice-a-week cleanings.

Using Oce VarioDot Imaging Technology with four 360-nozzle printheads and 8 ink channels, the printer offers four print modes with speeds up to 452 sq ft/hr in 1-pass 360 x 360-dpi in Top Speed mode and a High Quality speed of 70 sq ft/hr (720 x 720-dpi, 8-pass).

The printer also includes winder/unwinder for bulk media rolls up to 200 lb.

In addition, Oce has announced the availability of ICC profiles for its solvent media compatible with HP Designjet 9000s series printers. The free profiles are available on Oce”?s website for these nine media: Oce Solvent Photopaper, Oce Economical Adhesive Backed Vinyl, Oce Scrim Banner Double Sided with Blockout, Oce Scrim Banner Single Sided with Blockout, Oce Outdoor Poster Paper 212 and 140 gsm, Oce Solvent Backlit, Oce Heavy Poly Textile, and Oce Light Poly Textile.
