Nur Macroprinters has announced that it has completed the beta test phase for its new Nur Expedio 5000 printer, and has begun worldwide commercial shipments. The Expedio was first introduced at the ISA show in the spring of 2004.

Beta testing took place at sites in both the US and in Europe. Machines were used for full-time production printing during the beta test phase at all sites, Nur reports, with customers printing jobs on a variety of media types, including PVC paper, mesh, and other specialty media.

“We've already secured a substantial backlog of orders, and have expanded our production capacity to meet the growing demand for the Nur Expedio,” says David Amir, Nur CEO.

The Expedio 5000 is a 5-meter/16-ft. superwide, roll-fed inkjet production printer that uses UV-curable inks. The 8-color, 720-dpi machine can hit speeds of up to 1600 sq ft/hr. (Nur: www.nur.com).
