Next Wave has introduced its new inkjet transfer paper-Translution. Compatible with any water-based inkjet and dye and pigmented inks, Translution produces transfers that won’t crack, peel, or flake, says the company. When dye-sublimated onto fabric, it produces vibrant images and garments with an invisible hand.

For use on white or light fabrics, Translution transfers onto 100% cotton, cotton/poly blends, Lycra, and Spandex. After applying heat, transfers can be removed hot or cold. Currently available in sheets up to 13 x 19-in. and 17-in. rolls, wide-format rolls (up to 60-in.) of Translution will be available in Q1 2007.

In addition, Next Wave has announced a turnkey dye-sublimation solution matching up BASF inks with Coldenhove Jetcol transfer paper, and ErgoSoft RIP. Specifically designed for owners of Roland, Mimaki, Mutoh, and Epson wide-format printers, the solution combines Coldenhove’s Jetcol High Speed transfers paper (offering 95% transfer yield), BASF Bafixan P 100 HS dye-sublimation inks (for consistency and a wide color gamut), and ErgoSoft PosterPrint RIP that has been profiled for Jetcol/BASF ink combination. The matched system “ensures consistent quality and predictable results” reports Next Wave.
