Is Ghosting the New Normal?

So, is ghosting going to a whole new level? I offered a 20-something the position in entry level sales. Sent her the offer. She responds she is excited and agrees to the start date. We were working on her training and the team was geared up to give her the best opportunity for success and a career vs a job.

Today was the day… and … no show, no call. Is it really “ghosting” or is it just a complete lack of ethics? No manners, no common sense? Is this the new normal? It’s sad really…

We thought we had a diamond in the rough to train and be our next “star.” I guess I should be happy for avoiding a bad situation. — Dawn Homa, Signarama Brighton Colorado, Brighton, Colorado
