Mimaki has announced the availability of Mimaki Profile Master II (MPM II), a new version of the company’s color-management software. This enhanced version is aimed at helping print providers easily attend to tasks such as advanced ICC profiling and printer equalization.

An enhanced calibration function is designed to better printing accuracy and consistency. MPM II takes care of slight color variations that can occur over time (sometimes due to printhead changeouts), calibrating the printer so that these differences are detected and adjusted. MPM II also has an equalization feature, which creates a consistent and accurate color environment for all identical printers in a shop. It allows print providers to quickly respond to bulk orders by clustering. The equalization feature allows the use of several output devices simultaneously, calibrating all printers to the same color values.

MPM II works in conjunction with Mimaki’s Raster Link Pro III RIP (released last fall), which features 16-bit rendering for smooth gradations as well as enhanced White Layer Print functionality (prints on transparent materials simultaneously with white either underneath or over the image; or the white layer can be applied to graduated tints).

MPM II-compatible Mimaki printers include the JV series models as well as its DS, JF, UJF UJV, and GP series units.
