New Ownership for Ilford

Ilford Imaging Switzerland, which produces Ilford OmniJet inkjet media as well as Galerie and Galerie Graphic media, plus a range of consumer photo papers, has been acquired by Paradigm Global Partners, an investment company headquartered in London.

The deal includes the well-known Ilford brands, the manufacturing facilities and technologies, all intellectual property, and existing capabilities in R&D, technical service, supply chain, and sales and marketing.

“The last few years have been tough for the imaging business as a whole, including Ilford,” says Lars Sommerhauser, Ilford’s COO. “This announcement has injected a renewed sense of energy and excitement within the company and provided the business with focus and direction. We are committed to servicing the global market where there is a demand for the premium quality products that we manufacture and this will necessitate a strengthening of our business units in the USA and Asia.”

Ilford was founded in 1879; it has been owned by the Oji Paper Company of Japan since 2005.
